CHEZ BENTS

MAKEOVER OF HISTORICAL HOUSE

LISA BOND & HOUSE HUNTERS INTERNATIONAL | 2018
MAKEOVER OF OVER 400 YEAR OLD HOUSE FROM MEDEVALE FRANCE
FLAVIGNY | FRANCE

Architectural Renovation Designer for Mr & Mrs Bent in Flavigny-sur-Ozerain. Flavigny is recognized as “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” (‘France's most beautiful villages’) and the site for 2001’s Juliette Binoche film “Chocolat”.

This was a challenge brief – a competition between the production office and the Bents desires to re-create the best version of their new Heritage home. The budget was set in stone and could not be augmented in any way by the new tenants.

The design, reconstruction, rehabilitation and “time-crunch” were all filmed for the episode “France” in the first season’s episode four. Interestingly enough the Bents, post the show’s finalisation, chose to continue renovations and new construction.
