RESTAURANT WITHIN FRENCH NATIONAL MUSEUM MUSEOPARC D'ALESIA
LISA BOND | 2014
INTERIOR DESIGN FOR THE RESTAURANT OF MUSEOPARC
ALISE SAINTE REINE | FRANCE
“The National Museum sits on an archaeological site in central France and commemorates the history of the battle between Julius Cesar and the Gaul’s in 52 B.C. Although all traces of the battle have been obliterated, the museoparc complex recreates battlements and earthworks and provides interpretation for the area’s history.”
Bernard Tschumi Architects (“BTA”) appointed Lisa Bond to do an in-depth study & presentation of design options for the Restaurant, with or without colour, to include clean lines with a stark modern contemporary feel to be observed at all costs.
Lisa created culturally sensitive sound dampening design elements and iconography within the restrictive design brief as mandated by the weekly meetings with Mr Tschumi.
In addition to the basic brief, she designed discrete acoustic solutions for the acute noise problems of the museum’s concrete and glass shell in all of the public areas.
Lisa Bond handled the reconstruction, installation, implementation & project management all during the annual 1month closure period.
